Weddings
We absolutely love weddings at Cakes by Katie Allen. Every step of the cake ordering process is our chance to be a part of making your wedding day as special and memorable as possible. From tastings and designs, to the final cake, we want it to be an enjoyable experience for you both.
We recommend that you contact us at least 6 months before your wedding to ensure availability, but please let us know if your timeline is shorter and we will do our best to accommodate where possible. Then, it’s all about the cake!
Newly engaged couples ask us: what are the steps involved in ordering our wedding cake?
Step 1 - Style
To begin the process, Katie will ask a few questions about your wedding style, cake ideas and inspiration designs.
Step 2 - Tasting
Next is a consultation and tasting* with Katie, where cake details and flavours will be outlined.
Step 3 - Design
After the consultation, you can request a sketch of what your wedding cake design will be based on (£10) and a quote will be sent with it.**
Step 4 - Deposit
When you’ve received the quote, if you would like to proceed, a 50% deposit will be required to book your order in.
Step 5 - Payment
Full payment is then required 28 days before the delivery and set up of your wedding cake.
*The consultation and tasting with Katie costs £20 per person (for up to 4 people) and includes cupcake samples of your three selected flavours, accompanied by tea & coffee and takeaway cupcakes.
**When you receive your quote, it will include delivery and set up costs. Details of the cake can be tweaked and changed up until 28 days before delivery; some changes may increase or decrease the final invoice total.
